"Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I will meet you there."   Rumi

I am a psychotherapist, supervisor, lecturer and consultant. I have been doing some of these activities longer than others: lecturing for over 30 years; psychotherapist for over 20; and supervising and consulting for over 10. I have two diplomas in psychotherapy and an MA in psychoanalytic studies. I have engaged in a huge amount of other training (short courses and workshops) and study (reading, conversations, films), mostly developing and exploring psychodynamic ideas and more recently exploring movement and the connections between mind and body.

Until recently, I was part of a counselling training programme for about 13 years and co-wrote and delivered diploma courses and an honours degree. I have worked in a variety of counselling settings including: a school; an FE college; various voluntary agencies; and psychotherapy and supervision done privately.

I write and run workshops for psychotherapists, counsellors and coaches on a wide variety of topics that reflect my thinking about unconscious processes and our creative potential to discover what it is about ourselves that may be hidden. We can then reflect on those things and, if we wish, make changes. I also work with organisations running workshops on topics such as negotiating change and transitions and assertive management. Organisations also ask for specifically designed workshops on issues that are a matter on interest or concern.

As a supervisor I work with individuals and groups. I am an approved supervisor with Play Therapy United Kingdom (PTUK).

My current research is an area called Soma Stories- go to the page for that to find out more. On that and other pages I shall explain my thinking, my approach and ways of working.
