Working Creatively With Clients

When words aren’t quite enough, when clients are stuck, when something more is needed, the imagination is a gateway to other ways of talking.

There are other reasons to use active therapeutic modes in your practice: If you are engaged in time-limited work; if you are working with children; if the focus of the work is on the past; if activating your client’s creative capacity will move the work to a deeper level.

This workshop offers the opportunity to engage in different ways of working. We will explore the use of the following:

  • The empty chair - For talking to aspects of yourself and others

  • Drama and movement in therapy - Looking at your roles and how you move.

  • Family constellations using stones and shells and objects (and bodies) - The relationships in your life, come to life.

  • Time-lines and movement - Reconstructing the past, looking at the present, imagining the future.

  • Future workshops will develop these themes and introduce other creative ways of working.
